About Us

School Theme

This year's theme is "Gifted To Serve" - Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 NIV

This will be the focus of our weekly Chapel services and Weeks of Spiritual Emphasis.  We ask that you include this verse in your daily prayers for SAS.

Mission Statement

The Sawgrass Seventh-day Adventist School family exists to:

  • Nurture students' love for God and others
  • Empower students to use their talents to serve
  • Teach students to think
  • Show Jesus to others through actions and words.

Our Philosophy

The Sawgrass Seventh-day Adventist School is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented, high quality education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of communion with God in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:

  • develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow man as stated in Hebrews 13:15-16
  • master the basic academic skills
  • value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
  • seek ways to use God-given gifts, talents and abilities as a blessing for others
  • cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

The Sawgrass Seventh-day Adventist School operates in harmony with the guidance and direction of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist, Office of Education.
